Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) is a Free Economic Zone (FEZ) that was created in order to provide high-end healthcare facilities, medical teaching centers and investment opportunities to foreign investors and medical professionals. In 2002, DHCC was established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the main goal of the project being to develop medical tourism in Dubai, and make it an attractive place for visitors. The construction work was carried out by Tatweer, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding, and the district is currently under the control of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority (DTMFZA).

In general, Dubai Healthcare City consists of two communities – the Medical Community and the Wellness Community, with a total area of 4,090,285 sq. ft​​. The first zone is home to medical centers, branches of global pharmaceutical companies and educational organizations. In the second zone, recreational services are centralized, as well as the development of the hotel business and retail trade. Thus, the district brings together a wide range of services in the fields of health care, medical equipment, education, research, pharmaceuticals and wellness, as well as providing related support through its strategic partnerships and adapts innovative concepts from all over the world in all of these areas. Additionally, within the framework of this mega-project, there are also commercial and residential complexes.

Real estate in Dubai Healthcare City consists of mainly low and mid-rise residential buildings with modern studios and 1-3-bedroom apartments. In most buildings, there is 24-hour security, a shared outdoor swimming pool, an indoor gym and terraces. Some of the apartments are full-furnished and ready to move in.

N.B. About 90% of the district’s population are foreign nationals, many of whom are young or highly paid healthcare professionals. There are different types of licenses available for obtainment of projects in DHCC: service, industrial and commercial.

Dubai Creek Park is a popular attraction and is one of the most famous parks in Dubai, as it is the second largest (10,333,354 sq. ft) after Mushrif Park. Residents have the opportunity to visit the local planetarium as well as riding along the Dubai Creek. Visitors and residents can visit other interesting places and areas of Dubai by water taxi or, as it is also known as, the wooden dhow, from the stations situated along the Dubai Creek. It is worth noting that the park also has three helipads, a communications center, water coolers, an ambulance room and several places specifically designated for outdoor picnics.

Creek Park Dubai also features:

• A large stone amphitheater that can accommodate over 1,200 people and a large number of playgrounds for children.
• The park features the Dubai Dolphinarium, where one can watch a dolphin show. The dolphinarium hosts a show with seals jumping through hoops and juggling. There is a 5D and 7D theater here, a mirror labyrinth, and a trampoline room. This place is popular with children, as it hosts birthdays and frequent visits of school groups. It’s also home to 20 different types of birds.
• If one is planning an educational and fun day out with the family, the Children’s Corner Indoor Entertainment Center is well worth a visit, as it is home to a technology and earth sciences gallery, a world exhibition, a nature center, and a planetarium. There is also an Al Ajyal theater for adults and children and a play area with games suitable for children under 6 years old.
• One can also explore the park from above by taking a ride in a cable car which rises 98 sq. ft into the sky and covers 7,545 sq. ft of the park. The ride takes 30 minutes’ and opens out onto a spectacular view of the Old Dubai skyline as well as the skyscrapers on Sheikh Zayed Road.
