Ajman, the smallest emirate, is located in the north of the UAE on the Arabian Gulf. It has immaculate beaches that rival those of Dubai. It has well-developed infrastructure with shopping centers, prestigious schools and institutes and entertainment options. There are currently several universities being built in the emirate, as well as world class Saudi-German hospital that will be even larger than the branch in Dubai. There is also a seaport and the Ajman Free Zone, which play an important role in the economy of the emirate.
One of Ajman’s main places for entertainment is the Corniche Area with restaurants, bars, and hookah bars. The emirate doesn’t have a well-developed public transport system, therefore it is ideal to have your own personal vehicle.
Foreigners have been able to buy real estate with full property ownership in the freehold zones of Ajman since 2004. The emirate is known for its high return on investment as housing prices here are significantly lower than in Dubai. It is an affordable option for those who are unable to buy property in the UAE’s most popular emirate, or for those who want to earn a large passive income.
Expats who work in Dubai can get there from Ajman in less than an hour, though typically in 40-50 minutes. It will take about 1.5 to 2 hours to get to Abu Dhabi. Ajman is a popular choice for single professionals and for families.
It is possible to buy both residential and commercial real estate here. Villas are the most common properties on the market and apartments are a close second. Townhouses, entire buildings, and plots are also available for purchase.
