Development of the Al Dhafra region
Maritime opportunities in Abu Dhabi will strengthen due to the opening of new facilities in the region of Al Dhafra. The development will have a modernised harbour, marina and fish market. These new amenities will provide job opportunities and preserve local heritage and culture, which will enhance the local community.
The implementation of the master development plan of Al Dhafra is being made under the supervision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Sila Community Harbour and Al Fayiyi Island Marina were officially inaugurated in the region.

The Sila Community Harbour can accommodate 64 fishing vessels and private boats, and there is also a 46-ft slipway and 68 berths within the development.
The modernised Al Fayiyi Island Marina provides a navigational canal stretching 1,640 ft in length and 115 ft in width. There will be everything necessary to ensure reliable and safe access to and from Al Fayiyi Island here.

These developments significantly support economic diversification and provide new investment opportunities in Abu Dhabi. As stated by Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the inauguration of Al Fiyay Island Marina and Sila Community Harbour will increase the quality of life for all Al Dhafra residents.
