About the area

Uptown Al Zahia is a new up-and-coming sub-district of Sharjah that offers a modern living environment and all of the essential amenities. It is part of the Al Zahia project in the Muwailih Commercial district and is adjacent to the University City area and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. The development consists of a series of mid-rise buildings with studios and apartments that are available to buy and rent.

The majority of the development has already been commissioned. It is estimated that Uptown Al Zahia will be able to accommodate 700 families upon completion. The project was developed by Sharjah Holding and includes 10 residential buildings and some infrastructural facilities. The master plan includes an area with cafes, restaurants, a kindergarten, and a supermarket. The neighbourhood is home to Al Zahia Garden Apartments, an area with villas and townhouses, as well as City Centre Al Zahia, a large shopping mall.

The Uptown Al Zahia sub-district has two clusters: Woroud and Zohour, and each cluster consists of five residential buildings.

Woroud has three phases: 1, 2, and 3. It is expected to be completed at the end of 2023. The buildings feature a variety of amenities, including a gym, swimming pool, and barbecue area. The Winter Garden, Magic Planet City Play Centre – Al Zahia, and VOX Cinemas – Al Zahia City Centre are also situated near the sub-district. The buildings are connected to Uptown Al Zahia via a pedestrian bridge.

For evening entertainment, residents can go to Aljada Movie Night, which is an open-air cinema. Aljada Amphitheatre and Skating Area offer fun activities, as well as a variety of cafes and restaurants.
