To finalize your lease, ensure the contract is signed by both you and the landlord (or their Power of Attorney), with each party retaining a copy for their records. This legal step is completed by settling the initial required payments, which include the refundable security deposit, the first rent installment (along with any applicable post-dated cheques), and the agency fees.
Сritical move-in phase is setting up utilities and services. This involves registering for electricity and water with the relevant authority (e.g., DEWA), arranging any separate gas connections, and scheduling your internet and TV installation.
Concurrently, you must complete your building and community registration by providing your tenancy contract and ID to the management, which is necessary to obtain your access cards, parking permits, and the essential move-in No Objection Certificate (NOC).
For the actual move-in day, precise logistics are key. You must reserve the service elevator and secure any required move-in permits from building management.
It's vital to confirm your moving company's schedule, as most communities restrict moves to weekdays, and coordinate this with your furniture delivery. Final property access will only be granted once all required documents and fees have been cleared with the management.
Checking Property Functionality: Ensure AC, water, lights, and appliances are fully operational.
Reporting Issues to Your Landlord: Report any issues within the agreed timeframe (usually 7 days after move-in).
Keeping Essential Records: Keep copies of all contracts, receipts, and utility bills for your records.
