Tickets to EXPO 2020 Dubai hit the market with a chance to attend the opening ceremony

Tickets for Expo 2020 Dubai went on sale July 18, with an extra incentive for early buyers. Those who have purchased a six-month ticket or a family ticket by August 14, will be able to participate in a draw to win an invitation to the opening ceremony of the exhibition for 2 people, which will take place on September 30. Only UAE residents over 18 years old can participate in the draw. The results and names of the 50 winners will be announced in early September, and you can follow all the updates on the website or social accounts of Expo 2020.

The opening ceremony will be held at Al Wasl Plaza and will be accompanied by a world-class performance with stunning visuals. The whole spectacle is the culmination of nearly a decade of planning and preparation. In an interview, Mohammed Al Ansaari, Vice President for Communications, stated:

“UAE is a place where hundreds of cultures and mentalities are combined. The country is looking forward to 1 October to finally share the joy of the great opening with the whole world.”

The theme of the exhibition, “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,” will consist of three areas: “Opportunity”, “Sustainability”, and “Mobility”, which are the most important driving forces of our time. More than 190 participating countries will take part in the large-scale world event to promote the idea of global progress and sustainable development. Each day of the exhibition will be unique and, although there is no full announcement or itinerary of the events just yet, the organizers promise that the holders of 6 month tickets will never see two identical events within the same timeframe. As Sholto Douglas-Home, Director of Sales and Marketing at Expo 2020 Dubai noted:

“The opening ceremony of Expo 2020 will be remembered as the largest event in the Arab world. For all residents of the UAE, it marks the realization of their worldview and hard work.”

Today the EXPO 2020 website is where you can find information about some of the well known names who will be participating in the exhibition. For example, visitors have the chance to see the Oscar-winning Firdaus Orchestra, Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor, the famous Emirati singer Ahlam, and the Russian Bolshoi Theater group.

Sports enthusiasts will be able to take part in a Brazilian jiu-jitsu masterclass that will break the previous Guinness World Record for the largest training session in the UAE. Visitors will also be able to get to know the exciting sports technical ball and sign up for one of the many wellness activities.
