December 2, 2023 marks the 52nd annual celebration of the union of the 7 emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. It is a time of celebration around the country with locals and expats alike taking part in the many events and parties going on all over the emirates. Flags are flown everywhere and the red, green, white and black colours of the flag are proudly displayed.

Each emirate has its own myriad of activities going on such as theatrical performances, colourful floats, aerobatic displays, inspiring speeches, art galleries, choreographed dances, singing the National Anthem, children’s games and activities, LED light shows, and, of course, fireworks. The most impressive, however, is the giant balloon that will display the image of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the first president and founding father of the UAE.
