Expo 2020 has had more than 2.3 million visits within one month after its grand opening

Opened on 1 October, Expo 2020 has proved to be a tremendous success, as stated by the organizers. There have been 2.3 million registered visits within one month from 185 nationalities, led by India, Germany, France, KSA and the UK. Meanwhile, 28% of attendees are under 18 years old, and this number is expected to increase as the Expo School Programme is set to expand later into the year. In spite of numerous global travel restrictions, 17% of the total visits came from overseas, showcasing an ongoing strong interest in one of the most colossal events of 2021.

As well as all the above, a total of 1,938 government leaders, including prime ministers, presidents, ministers and head of states, have been present at the Expo 2020 site in order to open their country’s pavilions, give speeches at official events or celebrate their nations’ Expo National Day. There have been 5,610 official staged events during the first month of operations, with an exciting line-up of regional and international music artists, such as Sami Yusuf, Kadim Al Sahir and Amr Diab, just to name a few. Expo 2020 has already held two thematic weeks out of the ten from the Programme for People and Planet, which is aimed at addressing the most critical issues worldwide. The further eight Thematic Weeks plan to take place between now and the end of March, according to the organizers. The Saudi Arabia Pavilion, which is one of the biggest on the Expo 2020 site, has already attracted 500,000 visitors since the beginning of the exposition.

With the transition to the winter season, visitor numbers are set to steadily increase. Besides celebrations for the UAEs Golden Jubilee, the month of November will witness the Indian festival Diwali and the second of Expos Infinite Night concert series, in which the award-winning singer Nancy Ajram and Ragheb Alama will be headlining.
