Dubai will see the construction of the world’s second tallest tower
Farhad Azizi, CEO of Azizi Developments, announced in his recent tweet their exciting plans to build the second-tallest building in the world. The highest building is currently the iconic Burj Khalifa that sits in the heart of Downtown Dubai.
The name, unit mix, and specific height is yet to be revealed, however the location is already known — the Sheikh Zayed Road. According to Farhad Azizi, the name of the tower will be the embodiment of the Azizi Developments brand, the history of which dates back to1989.

The plan to construct the tower was first shared during Cityscape Dubai in November 2022. At the time of the announcement it was to be Dubai’s second tallest building. Meanwhile, the envisioned building will surpass Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which stands at 2,717 ft high, to become the world’s second tallest tower.
Azizi Developments is one of Dubai’s leading developers, with about 100 ongoing projects that are to be delivered in 2023, and more in the pipeline. The company reported that in 2022, it sold more than 6,000 units worth AED 5.6B (USD 1.5B).
During Ramadan of this year, the company donated AED 100M to the ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’ initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The developer has also been supporting the Rashid Centre for People of Determination and the Dubai Autism Centre.
