Azizi Developments has announced that the 1.6mi long Crystal Lagoon in the Riviera complex will be completed much sooner than anticipated

The Azizi Developments company will complete the construction of one of Dubai’s biggest lagoons – 1.6mi long Crystal Lagoon – ahead of schedule. The development of the swimmable lagoon in the Riviera complex in MBR City is progressing faster than initially expected; as the project will be completed as soon as 12 months from now.

Farhad Azizi, CEO of Azizi Developments, announced that the newly revised planned delivery date for the Crystal Lagoon in the Riviera complex is expected to be Q1/Q2 of 2023. Excavation has already begun in front of the first phase of the exclusive project and work on the two large pumping stations is also progressing rapidly.

The area of the Crystal Lagoon, which will cover the entire territory of the community, will constitute more than 1,399,588 sq. ft. The blue-floored lagoon will hold more than 51.5 million gallons of desalinated and clean water, suitable for swimming. Residents of the complex will be able to reach the communal attraction by a pedestrian path, along which there will be eateries and shops.

The Riviera complex is both a residential and commercial development in the center of Mohammed Bin Rashid City and is part of the Azizi Developments’ portfolio. The project, designed to introduce the French-Mediterranean lifestyle to the Emirate of Dubai, includes three areas: an extensive retail boulevard, a pedestrian zone near the lagoon with restaurants and shops, as well as a green space for socializing and walking – Les Jardins. The mixed-use complex will include 71 mid-rise buildings with about 16,000 residences upon its completion.

Riviera is one of the most anticipated projects by Azizi Developments, due to its strategic location near the Meydan Racecourse, where the Dubai World Cup is held, as well as the upcoming Meydan One Mall. The addition of a gigantic lagoon to the development has led to a surge in investor demand as all the previously released residences overlooking Crystal Lagoon, sold out in just a few days, according to Azizi’s report. Residents of Riviera will have access not only to the blue waters of the lagoon
