What are the utility provider charges for owners?
DEWA (Electricity and water)
DEWA Security deposit for residential property is AED 2,000 (USD 545) for apartments and for villas – AED 4,000 (USD 1,090) + AED 130 (USD 35,39) for connection charges which is applicable to everyone.
DEWA charges for commercial/retail shell and core include:
- Security deposit (may vary on the size of the unit) – AED 2,090 (USD 569)
- DEWA estimation charges – AED 695 (USD 189)
- DEWA approval (may vary depending on the contractor fee) – AED 2,500 (USD 680)
- DEWA NOC from developer (depending on the building management fee) – AED 500 (USD 136)
Air conditioning
- Approximate charges for first owners include a security deposit of AED 2,000 (USD 545), activation fee of AED 1,000 (USD 272) and other fees (applicable for new owners) of AED 3,000 (USD 817).
- Approximate charges for second owners comprise a security deposit of AED 1,500 (USD 408) and connection charges of AED 250 (USD 68).
Gas
- The estimated security deposit is AED 1,000 (USD 272) and may vary depending on the provider.
- Activation fee may vary depending on the contractor fee which is about AED 500 (USD 136).
Internet
- Security deposit may vary depending on the provider but is normally about AED 200 (USD 54).
